Ivan and Caroline Rehorek of River Street Studios are visual artists and performers based in South Australia. Showcased in this website are both commissioned and private works, as well as the current productions from our very own Suitcase Theatre, South Australia.

Ivan and Caroline met at art school in Adelaide and draw upon their family heritage. Ivan is a 'child of the theatre'. His parents, migrants from Prague, established the Paperbag Theatre in South Australia, so from an early age, Ivan has been painting sets and making puppets. This is reflected in his affinity for colourful, theatrical compositions and story-telling. Ivan is at home with diverse community groups, producing painted and mosaic murals. On a smaller scale, he can demonstrate processes such as paper-cutting with enchanting results, inspiring groups of all ages and developmental levels to create personally satisfying art. He is also a writer, involved with several local poetry and spoken-word groups.

Caroline developed a passion art at an early age, in the company of her artist mother and grandmother. She works in a wide range of media, including mosaics, fabric and stained glass.  Her stained glass windows complement the era of the house with refreshing originality. She is also a puppet-maker par excellence, and accompanies the puppet antics with music performed on a range of instruments.

Ivan and Caroline often collaborate on conceptual and technical levels, especially for public artworks.

We are currently offering two separate puppet theatre performances, including workshops and audience participation. These are suitable for school groups, libraries and community centres. We are experienced art teachers, with public liability insurance and criminal history screening (details on request).
